Who really controls AI?
Usually, the answer is data centers, chips, energy, and the biggest models. That is a conversation for governments and corporations.
But it leaves out the most important player: you.
All of that AI is built for one reason: to serve ordinary people. So you can control its quality too. Right where you meet it, at the counter.
You do not need a technical background. You do not need to look inside the black box. You judge an AI service the way you judge any service: Was it clear? Was it polite? Did it solve my problem on the first try? Could I reach a human? Could I appeal?
For years, I assessed the quality of public services as both a researcher and a practitioner: nationwide monitoring, independent reviews, mystery shopping. I have now adapted that method to services delivered by AI. The good news: it works almost unchanged.
I put it all into a short, free guide: Consumer Control of AI.
Inside:
- why an ordinary person can control AI
- the four steps of consumer control
- your existing rights as levers (EU AI Act Art. 50, 85, 86; GDPR Art. 22)
- a ready-to-use Assessment Card you can apply to any AI service today
Good feedback makes the AI better, customers happier, and the business stronger. Everyone wins.
The rules for living alongside AI are being written right now. Let us write them well, together.
