The AI Guillotine: cut the ballast before you automate the business.
Do you really know which business processes should be automated?
Before implementing AI, companies usually ask: "Which process can we hand over to AI?"
But the first question should be different: "Does this business process still need to exist at all?"
There is no point in digitizing ballast. You need to get rid of it.
I call this the AI Guillotine. It is part of business process diagnostics before AI implementation.
First, we cut off everything unnecessary: duplicated, outdated, excessive, and inefficient processes.
Only after that do we look at what can be handed over to AI, what should remain with employees, and what should be rebuilt as "employee + AI."
Why does this matter?
Because AI does not eliminate excessive processes. It simply makes them faster.
The AI Guillotine is not something I invented out of thin air.
I once took part in similar work for a municipality. As a result, we managed to reduce the total delivery time across 105 municipal services by 513 days, and eliminate 6 services completely.
Back then, it had nothing to do with AI. But now I see that the same logic works perfectly for preparing companies for AI implementation.
The idea is simple:
- Do not automate ballast.
- First, cut off what is unnecessary.
- Then give AI what can genuinely work faster, cheaper, and better.
